20 min portraits

I've come home for christmas and i found these guys in my room :) they're from my 1st year at uni, painting project.

I went through my friends facebooks choosing one image from each person and re painting it, using colours that i believe represent their personalities and then asked them to put the painting as their profile picture.

Anselm Kiefer

Again these pieces were at the Nationalgalerie, Berlin.

The print was fantastic, the faces held so much detail, i spent forever looking at it and the last image shown here was a painting. the thickness and texture of it was so lush i just wanted to feel it. I love paintings with texture i think it adds so much more to the viewing experiance as you have to face this tremendus urge to touch it.

Amazing psychadellic paintings from KIETH HARING at the Nationalgalerie in Berlin. The colours were so intense and it reminds me of my favourite band The Flaming Lips which could be why i enjoyed the piece so much because for me it made me think of the experiances of being at their concerts and their music.

I couldn't resist

I got told of by the woman in the gallery for taking a picture of the close up of this mask as i 'passed the line' in my defence the line was the same colour as the floor! She then decided my bag was too big for the gallery...it was only big becuase i put my hoodie in it as i got told of for carrying it. Why are galleries so strict on everything! I appreciate art much more when i can see it from all kinds of angles and it's even more fun when you can interect with it!

I'd love to have my paintings in a gallery one day and for people to want to touch them, and for them to be allowed to touch them.

Cloud Cities by Tomas Saraceno
Showing at the Nationalgalerie in Berlin 15th September 2011 - 15th January 2012

Fantastic piece of work as it looks amazing and you can also interact with it. I went inside one of the pods on the ground and it was air sealed. I had to close one door behind me before i opened the other, as not to change the enviroment created inside. I felt like a goldfish in a bowl.

Really recommend seeing this piece if you happen to be in Berlin at the times it's being shown

Trusty Hat and Mega Comfy Jumper!!
So i recently went to Berlin, on an art trip with my Fine Art course and i saw so much art my brain nearly overloaded. It was so so so cold there and as always i was not prepared for the weather! Although my trusty hat and mega cosey jumper got me through
